Ants in Lawn

I have a large lawn that is infested with ants both yellow and black. My lawn is full of ant hills which a sweep away with a broom everyday. It still however loks a mess. Is there anything I can do get rid of them apart from import a flock of green woodpeckers

Last year I posted a question about ants in the lawn and was given good advice about buying 'Ant Traps' which I found on sale in several big shops - they even have them in Sainsbury's this year! Garden Centres have them too. They do work. Hope this helps.
