my friend has a large pitcher plant and wonderd if you can split the plant like some other plants and make 2 or 4 plants out of one please ?

The advice is to "divide and repot just as the plant is coming out of dormancy, before it makes a lot of growth". If your friend is growing as a pot plant indoors, not sure when/if it will be dormant. If he wants to chance it anyway, I'd say spring time would be best, but Sarraceniac might know more, Nosey...
