What are they?

I have 2 very large fungi growing in my polytunnel they are ball shaped & white could you tell me what they are please?

they do sound like puff balls. they turn a caramel brown colour as they age. but as np says dont eat them until you have a positive id.

mmmmmmmm you cut the top of and scrape the middle out and fill it with a savery inner put the lid for want of a better word back on.bake it and eat the lot yum yum

Hi everyone just an update on the "puff balls" we did not eat them as we could not get a positive identifacation, but the cucumbers & butternut squash are coming along lovely,,, & the tomatoes have perked up no end too thanks for all the advice.

cool glad about that your puffballs will be back as that is just the flowering stage if ofcourse thats what they are

if there realy big there called puff balls and edible but dont go eating them without a picture or asking a professional.they can get up to about 10kilos at there biggest.
