I think it would be best if you checked this out on the RHS website - go to their website (just google RHS) and when you're on it, type Lawns in Mediterranean in the search box on the top right - there is a list on that page of what seed types you need to grow grass successfully there. Monday, I would go to your local garden supplier and see what they sell to all the other locals. English seed might not be the best for your much hotter and drier climate.
