can privetts be dug up and be replanted again with out it dieing

That depends on their size. If they are still young, you can move them in the autumn as long as you water them well for their first year, but if they are mature, they will be MUCH harder to move... still a possibility, though.
If you want to risk it, wait until they are dormant and do it then with as much rootball as you can get out...straight into prepared planting holes...also water well until they are established! In this case, I'd cut them back first to give them as much chance of survival as possible.
