Could someone tell me the difference between summer and winter flowering pansies, as I have seed which I have collected in the past and have no idea which one it is from or are they all the same seeds planted at differend times ?

I planted "winter" viola's last year and they were at their best about March/April/may and looked wonderful then but were intended for winter colour.
