no scent honeysuckle

I panted a honeysuckle last year. It has grown well & is now blooming. The problem is it has no scent, which was the purpose of growing it. Anybody know why this is and is there any hope that it will in the future.
Thanks

Probably a scent-less variety?!

Mine started life as a yellow variety but over the years has gone pinker (see pic in my photos)...& it has never had a scent! Guess we made the same mistake Tony?! :0)

The best types to go for (at least in the UK) are the named forms of the species Lonicera peryclemenum which is the native Woodbine of the hedgerows. The sent of this species (and all it's named forms) is excellent especially in the evening.

Good forms of it to look out for are Belgica, Serotina, Sweet Sue, & Graham Thomas.
