Try to combine plants so that one acts like a "pesticide" for the other. For example, plants like rose and garlic are beneficial to their companions in the garden.

I agree Owdboggy and companion planting does not act as a pesticide! certain plants can deter pests from others and this is how garlic spray is used to keep aphids off vegetables.

Sorry but I dont agree. Lemon Balm kept the Black Fly off my Runner Beans. Moschata Plants kept the White Butterfly Larvae off my Brassicas. Tansy plants kept the Greenfly off my Roses.
Am going to grow Nasturtiums next year to keep the Black Fly off my Broad Beans, as this worked for another Goyer.
They must work according to the weather conditions of the country you live in. I just dont know.
There are methods used by our great grandparents 200 years ago when there were no sprays. We need to research this subject from old gardening books. Dont leave them lying on the shelf unread.
Get them down now the cold weather is coming and do some studying !

But they are not 'pesticides' a pesticide kills the pests companion planting stops the pests from landing... I totally agree that companion planting works.

Surely this and the previous posting by this person are not questions, so would be better in a Blog?
