Can anyone me with the name of this shrub, lost the label, and i do like to know what's growing in my garden?

i suspect it is a berberris. it appears to have spiky leaves.

Looks like Berberis darwinii - I have tried to take cuttings from it without success.

I'm pretty sure its not Berberis darwinni - I suspect it might be Gaultheria procumbens, possibly Bells Seedling.

I'd say a gaultheria as well.
Anchorman - I think pernettyas have been moved to gaultherias now. I know what you mean - my first thought was pernettya as well

Thanks to all of you for replying,seems I have stirred up a hornets nest with this one, will take a cutting into my local g.c. and perhaps i'll be able to say which one is right :0)

It's Gaultheria (pernettya as was), no doubt. Can you let us know what the garden centre says please?

I agree with Bamboo. I've just taken vast amounts of cuttings from a Gaultheria 'Bell's Seedling' to be used to replant under the rocks at the entrance to Standen.

Hmm, not so Anchorman, I make booboos just like everyone else, lol! Anyway, I noticed after I answered the first time you'd already said Pernettya - yea, okay, they've changed the names,but still the same plant.
