Does anyone know the correct botanical name of my voodoo lily, I've been told three different names now and am rather confused!
Sauromatum venosum?
Sauromatum guttatum?
Amorphophallus konjac?
On plant
sauromatum venosum

Thanks Bamboo, there is a zantedeschia in the photo, but it's the other one with the markings on the stem I'm wondering about.Must be the Sauromatum venosum then.

Sauromatum guttanum is a synonym of Sauromatum venosum so bath are correct. However, S. venosum is more usually used by gardeners.
To make the identification more interesting, all three can be known as Voodoo Lily!

Flippin' 'eck, think I'll stick to S.venosum then! Thanks bulbaholic.

That's the trouble with common names, they vary all over Britain, never mind round the world;-)

You've got that one right Bamboo, it's so confusing....using the latin makes identification much easier and it's universal!

It's Sauromatum venosum - but i don't think that's what you've got there in the picture, that looks more like Zantedeschia aethiopica (one of the arum lilies) - though which particular one, I don't know cos it's not in flower.
