I have a horsechestnut tree which my son grew from a conker, roughly about 19 yrs ago, It does everything right, but after the leaves come out in the spring they go all skeletal, we have had about 3 conkers off the tree. I think it could be lack of water, any ideas.

There is a disease of Conker trees going about which does affect the leaves badly and the vigor of the tree too. I suggest you click on Google images and type in Chestnut leaf blotch disease and compare and look at how to treat, if it is LB.
