Why have veronica spicata - which were lovely - now now got white chalky leaves and 'flowers' no longer purple, but brown? Any advice would be appreciated.

I'd imagine the flower spikes have faded (cut them off) and the leaves are infected with mildew - spray with a suitable fungicide.
