what can we do about the trees roots growing plants all over the garden

we have 2 cherry trees in our garden which we have cut all the branches off of because they were blocking out the light in our lounge, but since then the tree roots have been growing plants all over the garden

and I have a blog on tree stump treatments - click on my icon and select blogs, there's only 5 to choose from and it's not very long. You will need to treat, as described in the blog, every woody root that's growing, including the original tree stumps.

View my photo on tree stump killer. You will have to do the same or you will finish up with small cherry trees all over the garden.
