My cordyline has 5 or 6 side shoots on it , can I take it out of its container and split it up into several new plants ?

You would think so wouldn't you,but from past answers I would say not.I have tried it with out success.I lost a large one in that bad winter thats now sprouting in a few places,but have left it to make more of a "bush"not so nice I have to admit.You need to dig down far enough to get some root and may damage the main plant,but best of luck if you try it.
