Help. I asked my dad to dig around a substantial potentilla ready for it to be moved over the weekend and he dug it up instead and its now in pieces! I have managed to save some roots and have re planted these but what can I do with the other pieces? Can I make cuttings? Also i have a big bare root siting in a bucket of water. Thanks

Not sure think it is a fruitcosa. It flowers twice a year and is evergreen.

At this time of year any rooted pieces you replant should grow.

If it is a P. fruticosa then the big root might survive, but it generally does not grow from root cuttings which is what you have. It would need some top growth at least to survive.

Thanks for the advice.
