Can ice plants be used as an annual in window boxes sucessfully?

I would like to plant these colorful ice plants in a window box on the southern exposure of my house. I am wondering if they do well in containers. I am envisioning these flowers overflowing the box and trailing off the sides. Will this work? Any special considerations to the soil?

I plant mine in widow boxes every year, they're georgeous they love the sun but need a lot of watering in hot weather.
Good luck
