What is this plant

I noticed it growing from the bottom of a wall. It has red stems and green leaves edged in red. The flowers are unusal.




Answers

 

Leycesteria formosa. Probably seeded into a crack in the wall. The white flowers you can see poking out between the reddish purple bracts will produce dark berries that birds absolutely love. I am forever pulling up unwanted seedlings from a nearby bush. Tough and reliable garden plant that can be left to it's own devices, or hard pruned in the spring to promote more cane-like growth.
