you can either scatter them where you want them to grow. or you can sprinkle some onto the surface of compost cover with a thin layer of compost/sand/vermiculite and place in a cool spot such as a coldframe, unheated greenhouse, against the wall of the house.
they are hardy and should grow away easily for you.
