how do i get rid of stinky horny fungi out of garden soil ?

But Stink Horns are such 'fun' plants, I just can't imagine why you would want rid of them.
They suddenly appeared in our garden several years ago. As soon as I see (smell) one I use a hand fork to lift the bulb like base and as much of the rhizomes as possible. We have not had any for the last couple of years.
Stinkys are fun, though.

What's more they are edible at the egg stage which apparently lacks the disgusting smell. "Edible though not tasty" says Roger Phillips in his bible of British and European Fungi.

Not a fungus I would fancy trying personally
