can anyone tell me when is the correct time to prune/tidy up Pyracantha, fireglow. I know it shouldn,t be pruned whilst flowering or when the berries are on them, but my husband is itching to " get at it ", so!! when is the correct time, thankyou.

Agree with Volunteer above. Otherwise, the
usual time to prune these is once the flowers appear -you can then make sure you leave some in place to produce berries later.

If you are willing to sacrifice the berries ( the birds will soon scoff them, anyway!) then any time over winter would be OK. Just try not to pick a frosty day.The bits can be used to protect crops from rabbits or to stop cats from using the soil as a litter tray! Or bring them indoors for winter decorations. Watch out for the spines, though!
