my clematis plants have finished flowering

This is a knotty one - depends which clematis variety you're talking about as to whether you prune at all, or in the spring. No clematis should be pruned now though. Names please?

Definitely need to know either names or at least when they flowered before we can help with Clematis pruning. One simple rule might help though. 'Flower before June, don't prune'. A bit simplistic but close enough.
