Is it safe to leave Aquilegias out all winter both in the ground and in pots? and do the ones in pots need watering?

We just leave them where they are, in the ground or in pots.

Some are hardy perennial but many are either biennial or self seeding annuals. Doesn't matter too much which, like Bulbaholic we just leave them to do their own thing. And back they come. Great plants for UK.

I, too, just leave mine where they are (ground and pots) and they come back every year

I always leave mine in the ground, I also scatter seedheads in the autumn in different areas to increase my stock, it works both ways for me.....

They are hardy and I leave them in the soil and in pots but I do put the pots under the eaves for some protection.
