Power supply to pond pump etc

Hi all, I want to have a power supply in my backyard to supply a pond pump, lights etc. Does anyone know the easiest and cheapest way to achieve this. I have looked at a junction box which houses four plugs for £29.99 - this looked ideal until I read there is no cable included. I don't know enough about electricity to risk wiring it myself. Ideally the junction box would be about half way down the yard against the fence.

Thanks for the suggestion Mad. However, I should have said the area is quite shady most of the time and I don't think a solar one would have enough power to feed the pond pump as we are also building a waterfall. My whisky barrel water feature is solar and works great in full sunlight but still only produces a small trickle.

Yes buttybabe you're right, of course it wouldn't do. So it looks as though it will cost more. You could, having bought enough cable, also get enough hose or similar and run the cable through it, and with a big enough drill bit, make a hole in the downstairs wall to a socket, where you could also site the transformer (if you need one.) Make sure the cable on the outside is looped down so rain can't seep in. My daughter did it in a small garden, with the hose fixed to wall/fence.

first of all make shore that you have the right cable for the job , go to an elect surplys shop, they will advise you ,and yes the hose is good, and driling a hole is right but dril it near to your main fuse box, and wire it to it's own fuse, I surjest 30amp and a throughout if posable' if you do not feal compedent to do this get someone that is but it is simple realy it is only comonsense and there is usualy a spair fuse or room for one,

Gosh this is getting complicated. I think I will have to get an electrician in to advise and probably do the job for me. I don't want to blow myself up or the four cats! I like the idea of putting the wire through a hose. I don't have the knowledge to add anything to the fuse box - I know where it is but that's about it!

How about a solar powered one Buttybabe? I don't think they are expensive, but do need some sunshine.
