how do you split a arum lilly as its getting huge and falls over also daughter wants a piece

« my sister just found a pkt of lupin seeds. is it too late to plant these now?
These grow really well in my garden and form large clumps. I just dig up and divide but would usually do this in Spring, not sure now is the right time?
