I grew these little bulbs last season but only one came up and flowered....I fell in love with the beautiful blue flowers and would love to grow some more but couldnt find them anywhere...even tried to buy them on-line but no luck....I sent for seeds and they arrived this morning....Can anyone please advise me on planting them?....

I used to grow them on my "rubbish dump bank". The soil was well drained (with all the rubble and rubbish underneath) and they thrived, but need to be treated as annuals really. I loved them and excitedly went every morning to see the new flowers each day, opening from their little 'lockets'. I too have found it difficult finding them. I didn't grow seeds though, but always bought the corms. I'll get some friends & relatives to look and let you know if there's any luck.

Kept both the blue and the white going for a long time n a south facing warm bed, but the last winter did for them. Thought that was it, but they have self seeded all over the place. So I dug some up and they are going in the greenhouse for winter this time.
Also I have collected a few seeds of each in case.

They are also beloved of slugs and snails

I think that the advice Thompson & Morgan give is probably as good as any http://www.tmseeds.com/product/1421.html
