When is it a good time to transplant peonies? they are about to bloom
Paeonies are best moved when they are dormant. As they start into growth very early in the year, the best time to do it is immediately after leaf fall. I moved both tree and herbaceous paeonies last Novemeber; the tree paeonies have already flowered and several of the others are carrying flower buds too. Be careful not to plant the herbaceous ones too deeply; the buds should be just above soil level
