I read somewhere that they hate being moved. They take a long time to become a reasonable size. I bought one years ago and fortunately sowed it's seed. I moved the original one and it subsequently died. The other six are doing just fine. They really do like well drained soli.

If you mean sow them, then Spring is as good a time as any. Sow in deep pots rather than seed trays and grow on without pricking them out. They dislike disturbance. Plant out where you want them as young plants and hope. The like a well drained soil in Winter, but lots of water in Summer. Mine self seed all over the place.

collect the seed any time now and sow in a good compost, i left mine in the coldframe over winter and most grew. they are quite easy to grow. I moved a clump and it sulked for one year then it has been flowering its little heart out.

may be you are moving them at the wrong time of year, they will devide which means moveing them, and will do well in the soils I have discribed.

Not sure what you mean by 'till'...? If you mean when do you sow the seed, then the answer is right now, while they are still fresh! If you intend to sow them in spring instead, then I'd suggest you keep the seed in the fridge to keep it from drying out.
