I bought an Isotoma rose in the summer which needs frost protection. Its planted in the ground near a south facing fence.I live on the North East coast of England. What is the best method to protect it from frost.? Thanks to Moongrower and Bulbaholic for your replies

You can buy fleece at any Garden Centre - but use it double. I wrap it round and then clip it together with clothes pegs! If it's a really hard frost, then packing straw around the plant before wrapping it with fleece should be enough protection.

You do need to give the plant some air on milder days - don't leave it trussed up throughout the winter.

What variety is the Isotoma?.. if its 'blue star' then i think its frost hardy and a mulch would do it...You could also take cuttings to be on the safe side'....:>)
