This is another established plant I discovered while attempts to clean out a severely overgrown garden. Any ideas? It is hardy to zone 5.

Don't think it's a Bergenia - leaves not quite right - what about Ligularia?

I think this could well be one of the North American members of the genus Asarum.

....except the edges of the leaves are wrong for that. Asarum doesn't have those toothed edges!

Just spotted the inflated ligule (centre, slightly upper right). It is almost certainly Ligularia. Well done Sid.

Commonly known as Elephants ears , it has pink flowers to it

No Hijuju, that's Bergenia, not Ligularia.
