I planted 3 tree lillie bulbs and they flowered lovely. They're dying off now. What do i do next. There're planted in the garden and are about 4ft. tall. James

They/re in a sunny position in the garden. They had 3,4 & 5 flowers and these have turned into pods. The plants are turning black.

Just tall ones, I planted three last spring. They're nice and useful at the back of a border. I'll just leave them to die down, they'll come back next year.

Hi James....just leave the stems to die down, then cut them off close to the ground. Your tree lilies should come back next year, bigger than ever :))

Hang on a minute, how come you all know what tree lilies are and I don't? Do I take it that they're just tall lilies?

Lol Bamboo :) "Tree lilies" are a fairly new introduction (this year, maybe last year?) Basically I think the breeders have just messed about with the species lilies and the asiatic lilies, and produced a hybrid that's extra tall. Mine are in their first year, and certainly not spectacular...in fact my old species lilies were taller....
