What do I do with Rhubarb now (October 20)
By Freelander

Can I harvest the healthy stalks now or do I let them die off and wait until early summer?

The stems will be too tough now, you harvest rhubarb in early summer to get the tender lush stems, then leave it to build up strength over summer. Just tidy away the old stems as they die back and mulch with some well rotted manure or compost.

Hi Freelander it is too late to be harvesting your rhubarb now, if you do you will have a poorer crop next year. Just let the leaves die back naturally.
Harvesting should stop around the end of August.
