What should I do to protect my outdoor plants over winter? Should I cut back the leaves?

If your plants have been damaged by frosts before, put white horticultural fleece on the plants when the weatherman says there is going to be frost that night. Water and light will still get to the plants but not the cold.

Hi Crofton and welcome to GoY, depending on where you live you may want to protect the plant over winter but don't cut back the leaves. If you get a lot of frosts wrap well in fleece.
