Is leptospermum scoparium, the New Zealand 'Tee tree', the same as the wonder plant Manuka? If so, is it hardy in the UK?

Thank you, moon grower. Does it matter which of the many named varieties I grow if I am hoping my bees will find plenty of nectar? Yes -- it's the manuka honey which is the draw, though I expect I'd need a field of them to be any good!

Don't think so, but how will you stop your bees going to other flowers?

Hi Jim yes it is the same shrub. Not sure where you live in the UK but it is hardy down to -7C and likes shade. It is a native of NZ and survives on the south island so must be pretty hardy.
