I am on thin ice hear because both Bamboo and Andrew know flowers better than me, but I will stick my neck out and say Bamboo's second choise, doronicum - little leo or leopards bane'

Adonis? Euryops of some kind? and my Doronicum is carrying one solitary flower right now, seaburn - it shouldn't be, but it is! Not sure its Hieracum, don't they usually have blunt ends to the petals?

Agree with Seaburngirl, think it's one of ARGYANTHEMUM.

Sorry "Argyranthemum"

I'm sticking with Oxford Ragwort.......!

......except I now think it's Chrysanthemum segetum, the Corn Marigold.

Yes i can see it as one of the ragworts but i hadnt realised it was a wild flower. I have been looking through my 'cultivated' books.
the leaf of hoary ragwort look to be a better match and flowers june/july onwards. my wild flower book say oxford ragwort flowers april onwards.

dont think the leaf is cut deeply enough on the corn marigold. we have that in a wild area at work and the leaf is a lot shallower and it tend s to be taller too.
