One for the fungus fanciers.
Could you help me identify this batch of fungi please?
Found on a slope near trees, not seen them like this on my land before. I'm sure they aren't ordinary field mushrooms. Thanks

They actually do look like field mushrooms, but as Mg says it would help to see a picture of the gills too. In any case if uncertain they should NOT be eaten.

Hi Mad
I always am very careful, that's why these fungi are still on the ground.

As Moon grower says, we need a bit more to go on - underside of the caps and also the stipe (stem) would be useful please. They look very close to the ground - do they have a stipe at all?

That's why I was reluctant to try to i.d. them Cestina the lack of stipe.

My first thought was some sort of Earthball.....but they look a bit too regular.

They are quite large too if you look at the size of the dogs face in the pix
