I think they are native to mexico so not too cold.

Coolish, but not really cold while they bloom--around 20º C--and warmer when they start growing new leaves in spring.

No doubt, MG! We usually kick them out onto the patio around Valentine's Day, for the extra light, and bring them in again for the monsoon season, since they aren't to fond of 41º+ C days, and 36º nights.

I just accept that they are a short term house plant with me. Still cheaper than a bunch of flowers though :-)

Previous question
Poinsettias prefer good light but out of direct sunlight and a minimum temp of 13˚C, don't over water as this will cause the bracts to drop.
