I have a hibiscus tree in a pot that I brought indoors for the winter. There are several tiny fleas around it and they seem to be multiplying. Is there anything I can do to get rid of the fleas that seem to be breeding in the plant or soil.

They were probably dormant until you brought it into the warm. Treat with an insecticide and put a layer of grit on the top of the pot. Make sure you only water from the bottom.

Aren't those little flies/fleas an indication that the soil's too wet ?
I have one of these plants (immature) and i keep it outside all year round, in a pot.

That's fine over here, Louise and Motinot, but I'm pretty sure Michigan gets a lot colder than we do.

Oh, does it ?
Sorry for inaccurate info Trenda, are you much colder there ?

There winter makes ours look like a spring day! Lots of frost, ice and snow can have temps. below freezing for a month or more. I doubt the plant would survive outside.

God, how awful.
Yes, put the plant into a heated greenhouse or conservatory then, Trenda :-)
