I've never used gel - only powder. Guessing it's the same thing tho, so yes go for it, although I think it's getting on the late side for propagating shrubs now.

Any chance of a picture? This sounds more like a hormone rooting gel which has nothing to do with the micro fungi I am guessing??? Never heard of Rootgrow gel.
