Its the 2nd time that plants of 1rhodendron & 1 dahela i potted in a newly soiled container thrived very well 4 two months,given 1 flower,then started to shrink,dry&die

if they went dry then i suspect you didnt water them enough. newly planted shrubs need a lot more water once they are freshly planted. they take several months to develop a strong root system.

Rhododendrons like an acid soil and some shade. they also prefer a soil that doesn't dry out. Was it watered regularly?
