Xmas style tree

Lincolnshire, United Kingdom

I would like to grow a tree (similar to that of a christmas tree) in my lawn. Can anyone recommend a good website where I can research and hopefully source one?

Ask here. What size of tree, how fast growing, what aspect, can you see it from your house etc.

If, by 'Christmas tree', you just mean a coniferous plant, then there are plenty to choose from. What you haven't said is how far from the house itself the tree will be once planted - if its less than 40 feet, then a very slowgrowing or dwarf variety of conifer would be best. The christmas tree itself gets over 100 feet, but there are a fair number of smaller varieties with the same conical or pyramidal shape, if that's what you're looking for. Some prefer full sun, some like some shade, some won't cope in dry soil, some don't like cold winds, so those things need considering too.

ooer, Steragram - I changed it yesterday, so I'm not sure whether your comment is about the balloons for New Year, or the snowy tree I've replaced them with!

Ha ha. My fault for chopping and changing avatars - decided I will continue to do so at varying times of the year. Keeps me awake, not to mention you guys, having to keep up!
