if you get flowers from abroad they have proberly been frozen and they are ok as for bulbs I dont know.

NO, definitely no. Freezing is likely to damage the cell structure of the bulb and so they are likely to grow deformed, if they don't just rot away. I have never heard of bulbs being deliberately frozen and suspect that these have been left in the back of a lorry for a night or two.

sorry must disagree Cliffo, i am a florist, and flowers should not be frozen if come in from abroad, they are refridgerated and come of refidgerated vans usually from Holland, occastionally they do get too cold as Bulbaholic has said accidently some do freeze, this means the flowers will be no good... a florist can usually tell if a flower has been frozen as the buds are translucent, squishy and will not open... if your florist tells you this is ok,,,,, don't believe her! lol

The only frozen bulbs I've ever seen for sale were in the freezer section of the supermarket, labelled 'Onions'!

lol.... probably not then Cliffo, i have worked in London and Essex.... but if you have ever sent/recieved flowers via interflora i may have had something to do with it..lol ... and lets face it it is well known that you have to be completely mad to be a florist..... certainly not a job for getting rich....

the florest by were I lived was not very good, and as the flowers were paid for they would deliver rubbish, not like flying flowers , I have known roses from them last six weeks, anyway I hope you get rich, but if you are honest you never will, a good name dose not put food on the table,

majeekahead, I had better point out that I am nothing to do with the firm, now I can say try them or ask people who have recived flowers from them ,the roses I spoke of were in a sick room for six weeks ,and the ladys daughter who I never met said that they lasted that time in her thank you note.I have seen her garden though, and I would say that she knew what she was talking about.
