Indoor plant (parrot plant)?

The only thing I can think of is Clianthus formosa, which has red, beak or claw like flowers. Check online for a photo, see if that's the one.

If this is not the one you are looking for, another that will be about at the moment that may fit this discription is Christmas Cactus, sorry the latin name excapes me, but they also have flowers that look a bit like parrots, come in red, pink or orange...
