CHITTING SEED POTATOES
Please can you tell me if i need to remove any small translucent shoots which may have formed on the seed pots whilst in their storage bags, prior to placing them in the cardboard egg trays?

No!!!! Leave them be, Jvt. These are the shoots that you are trying to encourage. They are only white/translucent because they have been kept in the dark so far. After a day or two in the light they will green up. If some do get broken off, don't worry. They will grow more.
