Classification of Iris.
I bought a pot of Iris labelled Alida and another one just called Pixie.
My query is are they I reticulata or I histeroides or some other species/hybrid.
I have googled but not found a clear answer. I do wish they would put full names on labels.
thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks BA. Thats the closest I got too. But some web sites also have Katherine Hodgkin as a reticulata.

An exhibitor at the above show, shows 'Alida' as an Iris reticulata . They have not queried the classification although they suggested that a bowl shown as Katherine Hodgkin might be Sheila Ann Germany.
Broadleigh Gardens near Taunton describe Alida as an I. reticulata too. They grow a lot of iris and give a fair bit of information about the different iris available. http://www.broadleighbulbs.co.uk/months/iris.htm
The RHS Plant finder give 7 suppliers of Iris 'Alida (Reticulata).

Thanks Scotsgran. Shelia Ann Gernamy does look very like Katherine Hodgkin, but it is more bluey than the other. My Shelia Ann Germany is in flower now. :o)

I agree with their decision but wonder if the exhibitor made a mistake or more likely his supplier did.

I 'think' that both are Iris reticulata, Seaburngirl.
