Most of my garden is at the side of the house. The lawn slopes up from a path at my gable. I am having trouble with rainwater collecting on the path. Yesterday it was at least 2inches. Has anyone any suggestions on how to fix this? Would putting in a rockery help?

could you put in a gutter'u' shaped concrete gully sloping down to your drains. then it will collect and draw off the water.

A rockery would disguise it but not solve it. A drain would help.
Does the lawn slope towards your house and path? I would have expected that it is not good for foundations to have water draining towards a house long term.
