Ive been growing Hesperis from seed over winter in the greenhouse.
They are a decent size now so when should I plant them out?

harden then off over the next 2 weeks then they can go in. they might flower for you this year but if not then they will next yr set seed and die. i started with 4 plants and that has kept me going in plants for 8 yrs now. I have to dig them out it gets so bad sometimes. they are a lovely plant though and wouldnt be with out it.

Thanks SBG, do I not need till the last of the frost before planting out? I have about 20 plants so do you think planting about 7 in a group would give me a good show?
Thanks

my self sown ones are outside thats why I suggested they get hardened off over the next few weeks. They are fully hardy but dont want to be shocked. They grow 3-5ft tall and a spread of about 2-3ft wide and I started off with my 4 at the back of the border as 'dot plants' to tie the other plants together. so as long as the ground isnt frozen they should be fine. You may find 7 is too many try 5 in 4 areas.
