We bought Paper Whites, already growing in one gallon pots. Our gardener planted them in the ground, just the way they appeared in the pots, with the bulbs almost peering out the ground. The plants are all toppled over, is it because the bulb /root should have been planted deeper?
Not a good photo. This was taken two weeks ago. They are really growing and green, but they don't look pretty, all toppled over. Should I dig them up and re-set them down deeper?

Don't know where you are in the States but in the UK these are grown as a house plant. They do get top heavy a topple over unless tied up some how... Try putting lots of twigs through them to support.

I'd stake them for this season like MG suggests. when they have finished flowering feed the foliage and as the leaves turn yellow lift them and replant them about 4-6" deep. they will come again next year.

I think they look very pretty as they are. No need to be like my father in law who used to stake individual daffodil flowers - he never really got over his army training...

How do I say thanks?
