I always wait until early spring Evelynn..Then i chop them into smaller pieces if i want to increase my stock or if a family member or friend is looking some...:>)...Welcome to GOY

welcome to GoYI agree with Motintot. I split mine in the spring just before they really start to get going.

Thanks Motinot and Seaburngirl. I started my hostas 2 years ago and they are doing great. Will take your advice and repot them this spring.
