What garden pinks are the most fragrant? I love the smell of pinks, but none of the varieties I've tried have been very fragrant.

Thank you. I'll try that one. The other one I thought of trying is Mrs Sinkin.

Gran's Favourite is a semi double, white edged with pink and has a superb scent.

I have Mrs Sinkin as well, it spreads sideways, if on a slope it can cover quite a good area, it only flowers once, whereas the pink one I mentioned is more upright and can need staking, but flowers over a long period, and has buds now.

Doris is a good one too.

Thank you all so much for your suggestions. If I can find them being sold anywhere I shall try them all.

best to trial them when they're in their flowering period when you go to a GC or nursery, that way you can determine which scent you like the best, then you can buy!
I've got French Frills, Mrs Sinkins and Doris. First one, I sown myself v. easily and the latter two are easily obtained.
Apparently, Superbus and Cranmere Pool are meant to be strongly scented.

Have a look at the Allwoods website, although it has quite new owners it has been one of the foremost growers and breeders of carnations and pinks for decades. They give good pictures and descriptions of plants and the varieties with good scents.

Next question
I have one called Letitia Wyatt, with a gorgeous scent,
it is pink with large double flowers, I keep a bed of them about 6' long and have to renew from cuttings every few years, but I love it.
