Surely "Tomato feed" is a liquid feed and should be applied weekly whereas chicken pellets are a one off, slow release feed.
Also, roses are shrubs and some people put more importance on them than most other plants.
I would'nt have any hesitation using chicken pellets as long as they're watered well in

Thanks Guys, I only have about 10 roses so I suppose a small handful of the pellets will be ok. That way its something I won't have to remember to do on a regular basis.

Hi pbd
I use chicken pellets for my roses too however my dogs love them and try to dig it up so if you have a dog be aware of this

Tomato feed comes in both liquid and granual form,
chicken pellets can attract fox/badger and cats/dogs all these animals feed off chicken, and all will leave their calling card (liquid & solids) so if you dont want cat/dog :fox & badger smells, use tomato.
If your going to use chicken pellets dig them in,
they are a slow feed,
tomato feed is a faster feed and is used weekly, as the toms grow they need the feed then, ie quicker than a slow feed.
